Week 6

Here we are at the last week of summer school!

Here is what we will be learning this week:

-Geometry!
-Review perimeter and area
-Circles
-Parallelograms
-Angles and Triangles

On Friday, we will be playing a review game in class. In preparation, students should look over their work from the previous weeks. This will help them to do well!

We will also be having a small party on Friday, and it would be great for the kids to each bring something to share. We will be planning this party in class on Wednesday, so expect some more information to come!

Report cards will also be coming home on Friday.

Thanks for all of your hard work (both students and parents!) and keep it up this last week! Finish strong!

Cordially,

Miss Lagasse

Week 5

Hey there!

There is a lot going on this week!

The topics we will be covering are:

-Ratios
-Percents
-Relationships between percents, decimals, and fractions
-Probability
-Circle graphs

We have some new students in class this week; some exchange students from Korea. They will be with us until the end of summer school, so please encourage your student to help make them feel welcome.

Also, your child may have brought home some worksheets to be corrected and signed on Thursday or Friday of last week. If they brought the worksheet(s) back corrected, the corrected grade replaced the original grade. These worksheets covered expressions, equations, and the order of operations which are beginning algebra. These topics will be covered in 5th and 6th grade math during the school year as well. As a result of the students grades on the worksheets, I retaught the lesson on Monday to ensure the students understanding. Thanks for supporting your students and their learning!

Do you have questions or concerns? Please feel free to email me at misslagasse@gmail.com or call the school and ask for summer programs.

I look forward to finishing strong in the coming days and helping your child grow and succeed in math!

Prayerfully,

Miss Lagasse
